Under general supervision of the Beaufort County Assessor, processes, assigns and finalizes tax appeals for the Assessor’s Office. Corresponds and assists the public regarding tax appeals, by way of telephone, office visit, written correspondence, email or fax. Coordinates the exchange of documents, schedules and attends board hearings, and types correspondences for the “Board of Assessment Appeals” (BAA) and other related duties as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•    Associate’s Degree in Business or Sociology or a 2 year technical certificate
•    One year of experience performing clerical functions in a public environment
•    Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Word/Excel)
•    Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required
•    Excellent customer services skills
•    Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

OPEN UNTIL FILLED
SALARY:  $17.90 hr

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
