Job Responsibilities: 

Under limited supervision, effectively plans, manages, and participates in program activities associated with the Environmental Certification Board, Board of Foresters, Board of Registration for Geologists, Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners, and Soil Classifier Advisory Council in all aspects of their statutory and regulatory responsibilities. Reviews and assesses program efficiency and effectiveness for the Environmental Certification Board, Board of Foresters, Board of Registration for Geologists, Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners, and Soil Classifier Advisory Council, recommends and implements changes as necessary.  Provides information, assistance and/or training to licensee/applicants and individuals/businesses on matters relating to governing statutes, regulations, and disciplinary processes.  Supervises initial/renewal applications and issuance of appropriate licenses. Supervises the administration and operation of the Board of Environmental Certification, Board of Foresters, Board of Registration for Geologists, Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners, and Soil Classifier Advisory Council, including initial/renewal applications and issuance of appropriate licenses. Conducts research and provides information regarding statutes and regulations. Responds appropriately to questions and concerns from licensees, members of the legislature and the general public. Organizes/attends board meetings and hearings and ensures meeting minutes are properly recorded, disseminated and placed on website. Issues Cease and Desist orders as appropriate. Works with OIE, OGC, ODC and the boards to establish resolution guidelines for complaints. Monitors legislation affecting respective programs. Conducts research and provides consultation and information to the boards regarding amending or developing statutes and regulations. Represents the boards and department in legislative matters before the general assembly or other interested parties as required. Assists in the development of long-range plans and objectives. Serves as liaison with professional organizations relating to professional industries of each board. Supervises staff that performs operations in program area.  Organizes and evaluates performance of staff; plans and executes development and training.  Ensures that the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) is used as a continuous communication tool and that EPMS documents are completed according to agency policy. Provides assistance to the Director, Assistant Deputy Director of POL/OBS, Advice Counsel, Disciplinary Counsel, Operational Management and Office of Investigations and Enforcement as necessary.  Works with strategic planning teams providing input into action plans and strategies agency-wide; performs other related duties as required.

 

 

Requirements: 

At least three years of relevant program management experience. A combination of education, relevant training, and/or experience may be considered in substitution for the bachelor's degree, upon approval by the Division of State Human Resources.
