SALARY RANGE: $44,120.00 - $66,000.00
(Starting salary based on experience/education/knowledge)

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Under limited supervision, plans, directs and ensures accurate implementation of all
voter registration and elections procedures established by law/regulation or adopted by
the Georgetown County Board of Voter Registration and Elections. Informs the general
public about registration and elections procedures, maintains department records,
supervises ballot and voting equipment distribution and insures the integrity and
accuracy of all elections activities and tabulations. Supervises registration and elections
staff and poll workers and reviews the work of subordinates to ensure completeness
and accuracy. Serves at the pleasure of the Georgetown County Board of Voter
Registration and Elections and reports to its Chairman.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):
• Plans and administers the voter registration process. Approves all voter applications
and assigns all voters to proper precincts.
• Plans and ensures the proper execution of all elections such as primary, general,
special, referenda and run-offs. Insures that polls open and close at designated
times and that votes are counted in a reasonable timeframe after polls are closed.
• Conducts an ongoing campaign of voter registration by leading and participating in
special efforts to educate the electorate. Leads a continuing campaign to sensitize
County residents of their responsibility to participate in elections.

 

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Performs related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a four-year degree in Public Administration, Business, or closely related field
and two years of experience in the election process or any combination of education or
work experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High level
of computer skills and valid SC Driver’s License required.
